Korean ↔ Japanese translation, live and in both directions
Tolkivo translates a conversation between a Korean speaker and a Japanese speaker live, in both directions, with one phone or tablet between them. Both people see the original and the translation together as each sentence ends.
How Korean ↔ Japanese works in Tolkivo
Choose Korean and Japanese, pick a scene and start. Tolkivo detects which of the two languages is being spoken, so you can talk in turns without touching the screen. Translations can also be read aloud, through the speaker or automatically with headphones.
Where people use Korean and Japanese
Typical situations are ordering in a restaurant, shopping, asking for directions, checking in at a hotel and talking with friends or a host family. It is useful for travellers in both directions and for people who serve guests in shops and restaurants.
After the conversation
The conversation is saved as text on your device, so you can look up the name of a dish or a place again. When you ask for it, AI review gives a short summary, key points, to-dos and open questions, each linked to the original and translation. You can export it as PDF, Markdown or plain text.
Example: ordering at a restaurant

Good to know about Korean and Japanese
- Both Korean and Japanese have polite and casual speech levels, and they do not always correspond one to one. The meaning is carried over, but the level of politeness may change.
- Titles and forms of address depend on age and relationship in both languages. When you talk to someone you do not know well, speak in a polite style yourself.
- Names of dishes, places and people may be shown by sound and not translated. Point at the menu or a map to confirm.
- Numbers, prices and times are easy to mishear. Confirm them on the screen before you order or pay.
A language being listed does not mean that every language pair has been manually verified, so check important details against the original.
