Dining translation for ordering, allergies and the bill

With the Dining scene, Tolkivo translates a conversation with restaurant staff live, in both directions, on one phone. You can ask about ingredients, explain an allergy and confirm the order while both of you read the same screen.

Before you order

Choose your two languages and the Dining scene. Tolkivo adapts its wording to dishes, ingredients, allergies, tastes and paying, so the names of dishes and ingredients come out more accurately. If you have an allergy, decide how you will say it in one short sentence.

At the table

Place the phone on the table between you and the staff member and speak in turns. Ask what is in a dish, how spicy it is or what the staff recommend. Repeat your final order and let the staff member read it on the screen before they leave the table.

After the meal

The conversation is saved as text on your device. You can look up the name of a dish you liked or reread what the staff said about an ingredient. AI review can list what you ordered and anything the staff could not confirm.

What AI review picks up from a dining conversation

AI review runs only when you ask for it. For a dining conversation, it collects what was said about the food, quoting the conversation and not adding anything that was not said.

Tips for restaurant conversations

Questions people ask before they start

Can Tolkivo translate a printed menu?

Tolkivo translates spoken conversation, not photos or printed text. Ask the staff to describe a dish aloud and read the translation on the screen.

Does a noisy restaurant affect the translation?

Results depend on how clearly people speak and on background noise. Keep the phone close to both speakers, speak in short sentences and confirm the order on the screen.
