Does Tolkivo work offline?
Tolkivo needs an internet connection to process a live conversation with cloud translation services.
How do two people use it?
Choose the two languages, place one phone, tablet or laptop between you, and take turns speaking. The original and translation appear together.
What does Tolkivo save?
Completed sessions save text snapshots on this device by default until you delete them. Raw audio is not saved to conversation history by default, and you can clear local history in the app.
What does AI review do?
When you ask, AI review turns a saved conversation into a one-line summary, key points and decisions, to-dos, open questions and context hints. Each item links back to the original and translation, and you can export the review as PDF, Markdown or plain text.
How much does Tolkivo cost?
You can try Tolkivo free. Tolkivo Pro (monthly or yearly) includes 20 hours of translation each month and unlimited standard AI reviews. Time packs of 2, 10 or 30 hours include 6, 30 or 90 AI reviews and are valid for 30 days. Prices are shown in the App Store or Google Play.
Which languages are supported?
44 languages, including English, Chinese (Mandarin), Japanese, Korean, French, German and Spanish. You can pair any two of them, and the full list is shown in the app.
Where can I download Tolkivo?
The Android app is available on Google Play. The iPhone and iPad app is in App Store review, and its link will appear here as soon as it is live. Until then, you can use Tolkivo in your browser.
How accurate is Tolkivo?
Tolkivo is designed to help two people communicate. Results depend on how clearly people speak, background noise and the language pair, and choosing a scene makes names and terms more accurate. For important medical, legal or other critical decisions, rely on a professional interpreter.
Does Tolkivo record my conversations?
Raw audio is not saved to conversation history by default. While you speak, audio is processed by cloud translation services, and each finished conversation is saved as text on your device until you delete it.
What happens to my conversation when I use AI review?
AI review runs only when you ask for it. The saved conversation text is then processed by cloud AI services to create the review.
Which devices can I use?
Android phones and tablets, and a modern web browser at tolkivo.com/app, including on a computer. The iPhone and iPad app is in App Store review and will be available once it is approved. Sign in to use the same account on multiple devices.
Can I export conversations?
Yes. Export a conversation and its AI review as PDF, Markdown or plain text.
What are scenes?
Before you start, choose travel, dining, shopping, doctor visits, business, learning, errands or everyday conversation. Tolkivo adapts its wording to the scene so names and terms come out more accurately.
How do I cancel a subscription?
On iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your Apple Account, then Subscriptions. On Android, open Google Play, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel a subscription.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, open More, then Account, then Delete account. If you cannot open the app, follow the steps at tolkivo.com/account-deletion.
Is Chinese shown in Simplified or Traditional characters?
Chinese is recognized as Mandarin, and both the original and the translation are shown in Simplified or Traditional characters (Taiwan or Hong Kong), depending on the Chinese option you choose in the language list.
