Vietnamese ↔ Japanese translation for work and daily life
Tolkivo translates a conversation between a Vietnamese speaker and a Japanese speaker live, in both directions, on one shared device. The original and the translation are shown side by side as text, with Vietnamese written with its tone marks.
How Vietnamese ↔ Japanese works in Tolkivo
Choose Vietnamese and Japanese, pick a scene and start. Tolkivo detects which of the two languages is being spoken and shows each sentence with its translation. Speak one short sentence at a time, and let the other person read before you continue.
Where people use Vietnamese and Japanese
Typical situations are instructions and schedules at a workplace, procedures at a city office, a clinic reception desk, a phone shop and conversations with neighbours. It is useful for Vietnamese speakers who live or work in Japan and for the colleagues and staff who talk with them.
After the conversation
The conversation is saved as text on your device. When you ask for it, AI review lists what was decided, who does what by when and which questions are still open, which helps after instructions at work or a procedure at a counter. Every item links back to the original and translation.
Example: asking about next week’s shifts
Xin chào anh. Tuần sau tôi làm ca nào ạ?
Được. Bạn hãy nộp đơn xin nghỉ trong hôm nay nhé.
Tôi hiểu rồi. Đơn xin nghỉ ở đâu ạ?
わかりました。休みの申請書はどこにありますか。
事務所の入口の棚にあります。わからないことがあれば聞いてください。
Đơn ở trên kệ gần cửa văn phòng. Nếu có gì không hiểu, bạn cứ hỏi nhé.
Good to know about Vietnamese and Japanese
- Vietnamese is a tonal language, and many words differ only by tone. Speak clearly and at a steady pace, and read the Vietnamese text on the screen, where tone marks show which word was recognized.
- Vietnamese words for “I” and “you” depend on age and relationship. The translation may use a neutral form that sounds more or less formal than you would choose yourself.
- Japanese politeness levels have no direct equivalent in Vietnamese, so the tone of a translation can differ from the original.
- Workplace terms, names and numbers are easy to mishear. For safety instructions and working conditions, confirm each point on the screen and in writing.
A language being listed does not mean that every language pair has been manually verified, so check important details against the original.
